CHICAGO — Wright College and the Greater Chicago Food Depository have partnered together to help those in need.

"ProduceMobile" comes to the first floor of the Wright College parking garage on the third Friday of each month, during which volunteers hand out food to those in need.

Just in time for Thanksgiving, Wright volunteers will hand out fruit, vegetables and bread from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday.

At the first event in October, 40 volunteers handed out more than 7,600 pounds of food to about 230 homes, or about 900 people.

The partnership began through Wright's Service Learning Committee to connect students to the larger community and address food insecurity, according to a statement.

The event will also take place Dec. 19.
