ARMOUR SQUARE — Police have issued a community alert after a pair of daytime street robberies near the CTA 35th Street/Sox stop.

The incidents took place about 7:10 a.m. Nov. 14 near the 33rd Street platform and again about 1:30 p.m. Nov. 17 near the 35th Street platform.

In both cases police say a man approached his victims, displayed a weapon and demanded property. The attacker is described as a black male, 5-foot-7 and weighing about 150-200 pounds.

It's the second time this month authorities have issued a community alert regarding street robberies. Last week, police sent warnings about a pair of early November strong-arm robberies that took place in roughly the same area.

Anyone with information on the crimes is asked to call Area Central detectives at 312-747-8382.
