CHICAGO — Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride the Red Line sitting alongside the train operator?

In a new video published to YouTube by the Chicago Transit Authority, you can get a taste of just that.

The about nine-minute video begins with images from atop a train at the Howard Street station, which then speeds along the tracks, through Downtown tunnels and between the Dan Ryan's freeway lanes, stopping at each station.

A sister video shows the same trip, except northbound from 95th Street to Howard.

The videos are the first in a series the CTA plans to publish over the next few months on its YouTube page, said Ibis Antongiorgi, a CTA spokeswoman.

"We are going to have a video on each of the rail lines," she said.

The videos are the first documentation of their kind, according to the video's description, which also states: "Hop aboard, and enjoy the ride."
