PORTAGE PARK — The Portage Restaurant will offer a four-course menu Nov. 12 designed to showcase beers from Irving Park-based Begyle Brewing Co.

The first course will feature winter squash and pickled peppers as well as fried sweetbreads, bacon, aged cheddar, cranberry and cilantro oil paired with Begyle “Crash Landed” American Pale Wheat Ale.

The second course will feature pork and garlic sausage as well as smokey shellfish broth, chipotle, fennel, carnitas and laughing bird shrimp paired with Begyle “Hophazardly” IPA.

The third course will feature beef short rib as well as malted potatoes, yuzu, broccoli rabb, roasted mushrooms and parmesan paired with Begyle “Neighborly” Dry Hopped Stout.

The dessert course will feature a caramel apple baked pancake, sea salt and walnuts paired with Begyle “Pancake Junkie.” 

The brewmasters from Begyle Brewing Co. will be on hand to discuss the pairings with each course. A raffle will also take place, organizers said.

The cost is $45 per person, and reservations are required. Two seatings will take place at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Portage, 3938 N. Central Ave.
