UPTOWN — What does Chicago really sound like?

That's what one DePaul University group of students is trying to find out. Chicago Wildsounds is a group of six students breaking ground in the relatively new field of soundscape ecology with their urban recordings.

What difference does a soundscape make in an urban setting like Chicago? Soundscape ecology studies the interaction of sound with other facets of an environment's health.
