EDGEWATER — Parking and sidewalk access will be restricted on the northeast corner of Granville Avenue and North Broadway this weekend for filming of feature film "The View From Tall," according to a notice from the film's production coordinator.

Dan Luna, chief of staff for Ald. Harry Osterman (48th), distributed the notice to neighbors Thursday.

Parking and sidewalk restrictions begin 8 a.m. Saturday and are lifted 4 a.m. Sunday on the north side of Granville from North Broadway to the "L" tracks, and on the east side of North Broadway from Granville to about 6231 North Broadway, according to the notice.

"We understand that this is your neighborhood and we will do the utmost to have as little disruption as possible," wrote production coordinator Lauren Walker in the notice.

She said the production's primary concern would be the area near Chicago Spinal Care, at 1130 W. Granville Ave.

"The View From Tall" is a film by director Erica Weiss adapted from a play of the same name by Caitlin Parrish. The story is of a teenage girl sent to a psychiatrist after becoming involved in a sexual incident with a teacher.

Parrish has called it "a deeply personal and angry story about a statutory rape victim being blamed for what happened to her."

"Today, in light of how pervasive slut-shaming and bullying seem to be, I want to be the person telling teenage girls that their voices matter, that their stories are important and that they have worth no matter what anyone else says," she told Screen magazine writer Mike McNamara.

The movie reportedly will include actor Michael Patrick Thornton, who appeared on ABC-TV's Private Practice.
