ROGERS PARK — Urban farmer Mo Cahill was slammed with another 11 building code violations after her third property on Touhy Avenue was inspected by the city.

Over the summer, an inspector cited her for 25 violations at her home and at the vacant lot she bought and transformed into an urban farm and garden.

Now she's facing 11 violations at her third property, 1841 W. Touhy Ave., which is next door to the farm.

Cahill said Tuesday that the violations were "more of the same" from the city.

The violations from an inspection completed in mid September include "a failure to maintain" stairways and walkways "in safe condition," according to the inspection report. The inspector also cited her for weeds, rats, debris and stagnant water.

"This was after we did a big cleanup, too," she said. "There was not s--- to complain about."

Cahill said she vows to fight the violations at her hearing date on Dec. 3, the same way she'll fight the violations at her other properties, "with everything that I have."

A city spokeswoman had said that Cahill could be fined for the violations found at her property.

"The Department of Buildings supports the safety and quality of life for the residents and visitors of the City of Chicago through enforcement of the Chicago Building Code," the spokeswoman said in a news release last month.
