NORWOOD PARK — Taft High School's teachers of the month for November not only get bragging rights — but they also get the best parking spots on campus.
Principal Mark Grishaber picked Technology Coordinator Jeff Komada and Kirk Vidas, the coach of the Norwood Park school's city champion boys softball team, as teachers of the month.
Komada, who "completes the work of three people," is spearheading an initiative to get laptop computers into the hands of all Taft teachers, according to a statement from school officials.
Vidas, who teaches physical education and has led that department for many years, coached the boys 16-inch softball team to a city championship, according to a statement from school officials.
Grishaber gave up the principal's parking spot in order to honor a teacher every month when he took the top job at the school in July.
Grishaber accepts nominations for teacher of the month via email.
