THE LOOP — Harold Washington College's President's Gallery will celebrate the end of its six-week artist exhibition with a reception Thursday.

Titled "The Condition of the Frog is Uncertain," the exhibit has rotated through six artists' collaborative works, all exploring the concepts of uncertainty and duality by transforming the gallery from week to week.

The show's title was inspired by the September 2013 NASA launch of a moon-bound LADEE spacecraft, which upon liftoff flung a nearby frog who was captured on camera, but never found.

"For one brief and shining moment that frog contained all possible outcomes of various universes — one in which it was killed, one in which it survived, one in which it received superpowers, one in which it was propelled to another continent and infinitely more," the gallery said in a release announcing the exhibition, a reference to the Schrodinger's Cat Paradox.

Celebrating that uncertainty were week-long installations from artists Joe Miller, Jordan Martins, Victoria Martinez, Stacia Yeapanis, Traci Fowler and Boyang Hou.

The closing reception is open to the public and will be hosted in the gallery from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at 30 E. Lake St. in Room 1105. The exhibition is open from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. through Friday.
