WRIGLEYVILLE — Crews tore down the right field bleachers this week as Wrigley Field construction continued.

"We're still working on the bleachers," said Chicago Cubs spokesman Julian Green. "We're working on the right side of the bleachers. We've made progress there, but it's not all down yet."

Green estimated that all of the bleachers will be gone within a week or two, depending on weather conditions. After that, crews will begin working on steel structural support columns to make way for new bleachers.

The Cubs hope to debut a bleacher expansion, five outfield signs and two video boards by Opening Day next year, Green said. Construction crews also will lay the foundation this winter for a 30,000-square-foot underground clubhouse, slated to debut in 2016.

Fans can expect a few more weeks of demolition this fall before the new additions are installed.

Next up on the agenda is excavation work in the Purple Lot adjacent to Wrigley Field, Green said. This will pave way for the players' clubhouse and should start sometime in early November.

We've rounded up some of the week's best photos. To be included in the next installment of "Wrigley Rehab," tag #wrigleyfield or #1060project on Instagram.
