CHICAGO — A 22-year-old man died after being shot several times Monday afternoon in Humboldt Park.
Around 4:30 p.m., Owen Spears was standing in the 700 block of North Trumbull Avenue when a man walked up and fired shots, striking Spears multiple times in the stomach, Chicago police said.
Spears was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a Chicago Police Department spokeswoman.
Spears, of the 700 block of North St. Louis Avenue, was pronounced dead at 5 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No one is in custody for the shooting.
