Juvenile Charged with Murder in Grand Crossing Shooting

CHICAGO— A teenager has been arrested and charged for the murder of an 18-year-old man after a fatal Thursday evening shooting in Grand Crossing, police said.

The suspect, whose name was not released because he is a juvenile, ias accused of shooting 18-year-old Stanley Bobo in a drive-by shooting Thursday.

Police saw a van leaving the scene of a shooting in the 1400 block of West 72nd Place around 7:35 p.m., and attempted to curb the vehicle, police said. The teen fled, but was found a short distance later with a gunshot wound to the hand. He was taken Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

Police were responded to a shooting in when they discovered the two victims. A 18-year-old man was shot in the abdomen and an 18-year-old shot was in the wrist, said Officer Janel Sedevic, a Chicago Police spokesman.

Bobo, gravely injured by a gunshot wound to the abdomen, and the other man were taken to Christ, where Bobo later died. The other victim's condition had stabilized, police said.

The suspect is due in court Saturday.
