CHICAGO — A 28-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy are dead after an apparent murder-suicide in West Lawn, authorities said.

Police were called to a home in the 4100 block of West 63rd Street about 4:15 p.m. Wednesday, said Officer Beri Lemmon, a police spokeswoman. They found two males dead on the scene. Authorities said the deaths are the result of a "domestic incident."

The man, Matthew Stanton, was found with a fatal stab wound to the chest. The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said his death was a homicide.

Seventeen-year-old Peter Robert Costello was found with a gunshot wound to the head, authorities said. The Medical Examiner's Office said his death was the result of suicide.

Area Central detectives are conducting a death investigation, Lemmon said.

No more information was available.
