NORWOOD PARK — Hot dog and beer lovers who missed the first batch of Superbier — the lovechild of Superdawg and Lake Effect Brewing — are in luck.
The new batch of the Kolsch-style beer will be released Thursday at Binny's, 8935 N. Milwaukee Ave., Niles, where from 6-8 p.m. those 21 and older can sample the brew and pair it with Superdawg's pure beef frank in a poppy-seed bun topped with mustard, piccalilli, a dill pickle, chopped Spanish onions and a "memorable" hot pepper.
Brewers from Lake Effect will also be on hand to answer questions about the beer, which was designed to complement a Superdawg.
The beer will also be available at local liquor stores starting Thursday, officials said.
The light, refreshing beer with a malty backbone and hints of spice and smoke was the product of an intense, nearly year-long development process, said Clint Bautz, the founder of Portage Park brewery.
