PumpkinFest 2014: 800 Pumpkins, Costume Parade Set for Saturday

LOGAN SQUARE — The Unity Park Advisory Council will kick off its annual Halloween party in the park Saturday.

PumpkinFest 2014 will feature more than 800 pumpkins at Unity Park, 2636 N. Kimball Ave., from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. while supplies last. Pumpkin decorating, face painting, fresh popcorn, hot cider, goodie bags and live music will also be featured at the annual fall classic.

An all-ages costume parade will begin at 12 p.m. where children will be invited to participate at the free event.

PumpkinFest is sponsored by Unity Park Advisory Council, Ald. Rey Colon (35th), State Representative-elect Will Guzzardi, Friends of Robert Castillo, the Haas Park Advisory Council and the Chicago Park District.

In addition to the free PumpkinFest event, tickets for the Unity Park Advisory Council's annual fundraiser, Party for the Park, will be on sale at Pumpkinfest. Party for the Park will be held on Dec. 4, from 6-10 p.m. at Weegee's, 3659 W. Armitage Ave. The $20 ticket includes food, one drink ticket and one raffle ticket.
