CHICAGO — Chicago Cares wants to match Chicagoans with volunteer opportunities the same way speed-dating events pair up singles.
The group will host a "Find Your Cause" mixer at the Cultural Center Tuesday, where Chicagoans can connect with more than 50 community-based organizations looking for volunteers or board members.
The event at 78 E. Washington St. will run from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and include light appetizers, drinks and music. Tickets are $20 and can be bought in advance online.
The event is geared toward young professionals, inspired by a recent Forbes ranking that named Chicago the fourth best city for the millennials, according to a Chicago Cares spokesman.
