Six Uptown Sites Participating in Open House Chicago

UPTOWN — A citywide event scheduled in October highlights six historic buildings and architectural gems located in Uptown.

The Chicago Architecture Foundation recently revealed the 150 sites included in Open House Chicago, a free event scheduled Oct. 18-19 that lets people explore some of the city's most interesting and unique buildings, from repurposed mansions and luxury hotels to places of worship, historic theaters and hidden rooms.

This year marks the fourth Open House, and includes the following six Uptown sites:

The ICA GreenRise Building, 4075 N. Sheridan Road; the Garfield-Clarendon Model Railroad Club, 4501 N. Clarendon Ave.; the Preston Bradley Center, 941 W. Lawrence Ave.; Sheridan Plaza Apartments (Sheridan Plaza Hotel), 4607 N. Sheridan Road; Somerset Place Apartments, 5009 N. Sheridan Road; and St. Mary of the Lake Church, 4200 N. Sheridan Road.
