One Dead, Three Wounded in Thursday Shootings

CHICAGO — Gunfire killed a man Thursday and wounded three others, including a boy, police said.

The fatal shooting occurred about 2:45 in South Shore. A 25-year-old man was fatally shot in the torso, and a boy suffered a graze wound to the ankle while they were in the 7500 block of South Colfax Avenue, police said.

In Hermosa, a 25-year-old man was shot about 3:30 p.m. in the 2000 block of North Kenneth Avenue, police said.

He was shot in the lower left leg and ankle, and taken in good condition to Norwegian American Hospital, police said.

Another shooting happened in Bronzeville around the same time..

A 24 year-old man was shot in both legs near 50th Street and Martin Luther King Drive, said Officer Veejay Zala, a Chicago Police spokesman.

The victim took himself to University of Chicago Medical Center and was later transferred to Mount Sinai in serious condition, Zala said.

No one is in custody.
