ENGLEWOOD — Learning how to your manage money will be the focus of a free, weekend workshop sponsored by a nonprofit.
The "Preparing Your Family for Financial Growth" workshop runs from 1-2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Action Coalition of Englewood, 6455 S. Peoria St.
Participants will learn how to open a checking and savings account at a bank and why it is less costly than using other financial institutions, such as currency exchanges. Other topics to be discussed include purchasing life insurance, preparing for retirement, applying for a home loan, and why it is important to put money away for emergencies.
