ENGLEWOOD — Organizers of a one-day basketball clinic in Englewood for young girls said it will be led by Chicago Sky coach Pokey Chatman.

The free clinic, which is sponsored by the Black McDonald's Operators Association, runs from 4-6 p.m. Thursday at the Salvation Army Red Shield Center, 945 W. 69th St., and can accommodate up to 50 girls 10 to 17 years old.

Girls will participate in drills led by Chatman on dribbling, shooting, defense and court awareness. The clinic will conclude with a question-and-answer session with Chatman.

The clinic is in conjunction with the sixth annual "Herman Petty Hoops for the House” basketball tournament, which was named in honor of the first black McDonald’s franchise owner.

The tournament is open to boys and girls ages 10 years old and up and starts at 8 a.m. Saturday at Unity Junior High School in west suburban Cicero.
