Radio Extra: Englewood 5K Hopes to Highlight Positives of Neighborhood

ENGLEWOOD — Organizers of a race through Englewood understand the neighborhood's violent reputation. In fact, the event's title spells it out pretty clearly. 

The Ditch the Weight & Guns 5K Walk & Run, scheduled for Nov. 2, takes runners through South Side streets that were miles away from Sunday's Chicago Marathon route. 

And that's the point.
