CHICAGO — A Logan Square man was charged after fleeing the scene after he allegedly hit a pedestrian with a car Friday afternoon.

Rolando Berrios-Rio, 28, of the 2600 block of North Ridgeway Avenue, drove through a red light in the 1000 block of West Irving Park Road about 1:15 p.m. Friday, hitting a pedestrian and another vehicle, police said.

He pulled over, got out of his vehicle and ran away, police said. The pedestrian is reportedly in critical condition.

Berrios-Rio is charged with leaving the scene of an accident involving an injury or death, a felony, as well as two misdemeanors for not having a drivers license and running a red light.

He is due to appear in court Sunday.
