WEST ROGERS PARK — Park No. 557 was renamed North Boundary Park Wednesday at the request of the North Boundary Home Owners League, a neighborhood group.

The Chicago Park District board voted to rename the park in the 7300 block of North Kedzie Avenue. Signs reflecting the new name will be installed "within weeks," according to a statement from the Park District.

Morrine Sweer, the president of the home owners league, said for decades the city had owned the property and her group had taken care of it at great expense. In 2011, she said, the Chicago Park District took over the 1.6 acres.

In June, the City Council approved $24,000 worth of lights for the park.
