ROGERS PARK — Fallapalooza, a new music festival, kicks off Saturday at the intersection of Wayne and Devon avenues.

Audio Archaeology owner John Arnsdorff said he and other concerned residents founded the festival in response to recent violence. Arnsdorff witnessed the gunshots that killed bystander Wil Lewis this summer just steps from his shop's door at 1324 W. Devon Ave.

The festival begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 9 p.m.

Performers include Pieptone!, Joshua Wentz, Mereology, Medicine Bear, A Cool Hand, YML, Silvergirl, Brian Velez, and The Ents.

Admission is $5 and supports neighborhood youth and community activities, according to organizers.

Food, beer and sangria will be served alongside other vendors.

Pumpkin painting and candle making will also take place.
