EDGEBROOK — Graziano’s Restaurant is giving diners a chance to eat well, and then do well.

To celebrate the restaurant's 20th anniversary, the restaurant will donate 20 percent of diners' checks to the Advocate Lutheran General’s Adult Down Syndrome Center, if diners mention the center to their server.

The restaurant will also host a fundraiser for the center from 5 to 9 p.m. Oct. 28. For $25, attendees can sample appetizers, beer, wine and pop.

Graziano’s contributions to the center have helped more than 5,500 adolescents and adults with Down syndrome, said Dr. Brian Chicoine, a family medicine physician at the center.

Maria Gonzalez, Pauly Cipolla and Steven Demet founded Graziano's in 1994. Gonzalez and Demet's youngest child, John, was born with Down Syndrome in 2002.

Graziano's is also working to raise $50,000 for Misericordia through its Have a Heart campaign that gives anyone who donates $10 to Misericordia on its website a voucher good for $10 off a meal at Graziano’s.

Misericordia is a residential community of more than 600 adults and children with developmental disabilities.
