PORTAGE PARK — The Northwest Chicago Historical Society will host a talk and tour of St. Pascal's Church, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary.
St. Pascal was founded in 1914 when Portage Park "was mostly prairies and mud with a few homes thrown in," according to the historical society.
The tour, which is scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday, will explore the buildings of the parish and discuss how they have been used to meet the church's changing needs.
The tour will also focus on the many symbols that adorn the church, 3935 N. Melvina Ave.
A $5 donation is requested.
Pictures and a few artifacts from the parish's history will be on display and the historical society's book "From Prairie to Parish: The first 100 years of St. Pascal Church" will be available for purchase.
