LOGAN SQUARE — The neighborhood’s newest style icon is a juice bar.

The long-awaited high-end, cold-pressed juice bar Owen + Alchemy will be open from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. Tuesday and feature a new “stylish and healthy Epicurean café” at 2355 N. Milwaukee Ave.

The new 1,000-square-foot “luxury juice mecca” plans to bring a “holistic approach to the juice industry with an added culinary benefit,” according to a press release for the grand opening.

Owners Jared Van Camp, Old Town Social's executive chef, and Anne Owen, a former marketer, publisher and the “most stylish apothecarist in Logan Square,” will work alongside a staff nutritionist and Chinese medicine guru Giselle Wasfie, who was consulted on the store’s menu and will be available to customers for consultation once a week.

“Owen + Alchemy provides customized juice cleanses and programs, an impeccably-designed, aspirational space and a completely chef-driven menu that gives the concept of juicing the culinary expertise it has needed,” according to the release. “A marked emphasis has been placed on creating bold, sophisticated flavors refined by a chef’s palate in addition to hyper-local ingredients, optimization of nutrition through cold-press equipment and above-and-beyond eco-friendly practices.”

The “all-glass, custom-designed, minimalist-chic bottles with matte-black labels and black metal caps” will be marked with removable labels to encourage reuse of the bottle — or customers can return the bottle for a $1 credit on future juice purchases.

Owen + Alchemy will also offer in-store recycling and commercial composting “to fully close the loop within the juice production cycle.”
