An Evening with John Darnielle at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 7 p.m.

John Darnielle the writer, composer, guitarist and vocalist for The Mountain Goats presents the story of the Trace Italian, "Wolf in White Van." Single tickets and a book are $30. Two tickets and a book are $45.

Russ Williamson at Zanies, 1548 N. Wells St, 8:30 and 10:30 p.m.

Russ Williamson has performed on Comedy Central's "Live at Gotham," NBC's "Chicago Fire" and the Starz series "Boss." Tickets for his stand-up show are $25 with the purchase of two food items.

Claudette Miller and the Tenry Johns' Blues Band at Chicago B.L.U.E.S. Bar, 2519 N. Halsted St., 9:30 p.m.

Claudette Miller, a vocalist and songwriter whose sound blends Chicago blues with jazz overtones, performs with Tenry Johns' Blues Band. The Chris Duarte Group will also perform. Doors open at 8 p.m.
