FOREST GLEN — A stretch of Elston Avenue in Forest Glen may look a little classier once city crews finish installing ornamental light poles.

Ald. John Arena (45th) said the $1.5 million project "should improve the look and feel of Elston" and encourage more businesses to set up shop along Elston between Forest Glen and Central avenues.

Money from the Elston-Armstrong Tax Increment Financing district is funding the project, Arena said.

Work is scheduled to begin Tuesday, and is expected to be completed by Christmas, depending on the weather, Arena said.

While parking will be restricted where crews are working, lane closures should not be needed, Arena said.
