DOWNTOWN — Saturday's Great Chicago Fire Festival promised ambitious choreography and the burning of 1870s-style houses perched on barges, followed by fireworks.
But the production, coordinated by Redmoon Theater, left many disappointed, as a mechanical failure prevented the houses from burning.
Photographer Justin Barbin captured the scenery, which brought thousands to Downtown. The festival included food trucks, music and neighborhood vendors.
