CHICAGO — A 13-year-old boy was fatally shot in Marquette Park Sunday night.
Around 8:35 p.m., the boy was discovered laying unresponsive on the sidewalk in the 6600 block of South Talman Avenue. He was pronounced dead on the scene, said Officer Jose Estrada, a Chicago Police spokesman.
The boy was identified as Demureya Macon, of the 6400 block of South Maplewood Avenue. He was pronounced dead at 8:36 p.m., according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.
No more information was available about the shooting, Estrada said.
