Man Shot in May 2013 Dies from Wounds

CHICAGO — A man wounded in a possible gang-related shooting last May died last week, authorities said.

Bobby Lee Battle, 45, was shot multiple times on the evening of May 11, 2013, while walking in the 8200 block of South Maryland Avenue in Chatham.

He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in critical condition. Police at the time said the shooting was possibly gang related because Battle had documented gang ties.

Battle was pronounced dead Friday at 10:24 a.m. Tuesday. at the Bronzeville Park Skilled Nursing and Living Center.

An autopsy determined he died of complications from multiple gunshot wounds.
