EDISON PARK — Runners can lace up their shoes and hit the pavement Saturday to raise money for Edison Park Elementary School.
The Pound the Pavement 5K will fill the "holes" in the neighborhood school's budget, organizers said.
The 5K race, which will loop around Edison Park through tree-lined streets, will start at 8 a.m. Saturday at 6220 N. Olcott Ave.

The course is certified by the USA Track and Field Association and runners will be timed with chips.
A dash for children 7 and younger will also take place.
Online registration is no longer available, but a limited number of spots will be open on race day starting at 6:30 a.m.. The cost is $30 for adults and $15 for children.
Tracy Plotkin, a yoga teacher and runner, will host free 15-minute yoga sessions for runners before and after the race.
