CHINATOWN — The Chinese American Service League is sponsoring an event that aims to bring free legal help to immigrants looking to become American citizens.

The event takes place 1-3 p.m. Saturday at the Chinatown branch of the Chicago Public Library, 2353 S. Wentworth Ave.

Organizers say the event "provides specific assistance to new immigrants for their naturalization process," including free legal screenings, photos and help filling out forms.

For more information, contact the library or Tina Xu by calling 312-791-0418 Ext. 2348.

The event is hosted by the Chinese American Service League, which has partnered with the New Americans Initiative, a state program that helps immigrants become American citizens.
