ROGERS PARK — Rogers Park-based Twin Peaks, a rising Midwest garage band, dropped its sophomore album this summer.

The album, called "Wild Onion," is available on iTunes, with tracks like "Strawberry Smoothie," "Sloop Jay D" and "Flavor."

The new record, released by Grand Jury Music, also got reviewed in the Sept. 11 issue of Rolling Stone, garnering 3 1/2 stars:

These Chicago garage-pop kids weren't even born when "Twin Peaks" went off the air, but their love of ancient cultures goes back even further. On their second record, the spunky quartet pull off "Exile"-era Stones strut and Velvet Underground guitar poesy with sophistication that's beyond their years...

Twin Peaks frontman and guitarist Cadien James started the band his sophomore year at Jones College Prep with friends Clay Frankel, Connor Brodner and Jack Dolan. They still rehearse in James' Rogers Park basement from time to time.
