Fight Near Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive Sends Three to Hospital

DOWNTOWN — One person was stabbed and two other slashed across their abdomens after a fight near Michigan Avenue near the Chicago River Sunday morning.

The incident happened about 2:10 a.m. when two groups of "young persons" exchanged words while walking near Michigan Avenue and Wacker Drive, police said.

While one person from each group started fighting, another person drew a knife and slashed two others across their abdomens. A third person was stabbed in the abdomen, police said.

The suspects fled, and the three injured people were taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The two people who were slashed were in good condition. The person was stabbed was in serious condition, police said.
