ROSELAND — ComEd's Small Business Energy Savings program will visit a South Side church Saturday and officials say the program can help businesses save on their electric bills.

The energy provider will be available from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday at True Vine of Holiness M.B. Church, 400 E. 111th St., for businesses interested in signing up for the program. They can also enter a raffle to win an Android mini tablet.

Krissy Posey, a ComEd spokeswoman, said small business owners can receive free energy assessments of their facilities from a qualified energy expert, "and instant financial incentives to offset the costs of the recommended energy-efficiency improvements, such as installing water heaters and upgrading lighting systems."

She added that ComEd representatives will also be visiting small businesses in Pullman and Roseland until year-end to help sign them up.

Launched in 2008, ComEd officials said the program has helped business customers complete more than 30,000 projects and saved millions of dollars.

“We’re excited to offer these energy efficiency solutions to small businesses," said Val Jensen, senior vice president of customer operations for ComEd. "The energy savings solutions offered by our Smart Ideas program can have a positive impact on a business’s bottom line, which can result in growth and stronger neighborhoods."
