CHICAGO — A 29-year-old man died after a drive-by shooting in Rogers Park Sunday night, police said.

The incident occurred in the 7400 block of North Ridge Avenue at 8:45 p.m. when two men approached a group standing inside the gates of an apartment complex, police said.

One of those men shot at the group, wounding two men.

One of the victims, 29, was shot in his lower leg and taken to Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

The other man, also 29, was taken to St. Francis Hospital in Evanston after being shot in his shoulder once and stomach twice. He died at the hospital.

He was identified as Paul Land, of the 7400 block of Ridge Boulevard, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office.

Neither were gang-affliated, unlike in an Aug. 10 incident at the same complex where a 20-year-old gang-affiliated man was shot.

The two men were among 11 shot in the city overnight. Earlier Sunday, stray bullets hit a man and a woman near the Morse Red Line Station in Rogers Park.
