CHICAGO — A man who went missing near a North Side beach died Sunday morning, police said.
The man went swimming near Montrose Beach and disappeared from sight, police said. Witnesses called 911, and Chicago Fire Department personnel responded about 8:30 a.m.
They recovered the body of a 49-year-old man, and took him to Weiss Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 9:03 a.m., authorities said.
The Cook County Medical Examiner's Office did not release his name Sunday, and said an autopsy was scheduled for Monday.
