COOK COUNTY CRIMINAL COURTHOUSE — A 64-year-old Edgewater man was busted on camera keying his neighbor's car in the parking garage of Sheridan Road high-rise, causing $3,200 in damage, prosecutors said.

Donald Alan scratched his neighbor's 2005 Nissan Pathfinder "from the front bumper to the back bumper" on July 6 in the garage of a high-rise in the 6100 block of North Sheridan, prosecutors said.

Video surveillance from the garage first shows Alan trying to get around the neighbor's car. Then he can be seen scratching it, prosecutors said.

After Alan was identified as the culprit, police went to arrest him on Tuesday and found him in possession of 15 grams of what authorities believe to be marijuana, according to court records.

He was charged with a felony for the pot and a misdemeanor charge of criminal damage to property in the alleged keying, according to court records.

A Cook County judge ordered him released Thursday, to return to court on his own recognizance.
