CHICAGO — The city has announced a second watch party this Sunday for fans who want to root on Jackie Robinson West as they play their second game of the Little League World Series.

The Morgan Park-based Little League team handily won their first game 12-2 on Thursday, rolling a team from Lynnwood, Washington, led by Jackie Robinson's Pierce Jones, who hit three home runs.

On Thursday, more than 600 people came to Jackie Robinson Park in Washington Heights for a viewing party hosted by the city and the Chicago White Sox.

The Chicago Park District will host another watch party at Jackie Robinson Park, 10540 S. Morgan St., on Sunday for fans who want to catch the team's second game, which begins at 1 p.m. and airs on ABC.

Jackie Robinson West is the first Chicago team to qualify for the Little League World Series in more than 30 years. They're also the last team to qualify, clinching a berth to the tournament in 1983.

City officials are encouraging residents to come watch as Jackie Robinson West takes on Mountain Ridge from Las Vegas, Nevada in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, where the Little League World Series is hosted.
