RIVER NORTH — The River North Residents Association will host a free screening of "The Blind Side" at dusk Tuesday in A. Montgomery Ward Park.

The 2009 movie, about football player Michael Oher's rise from an impoverished youth to the NFL and his relationship with his adopted mother, stars Quinton Aaron and Sandra Bullock. The film was nominated for an Academy Award for best picture and Bullock won the Oscar for best actress.

The screening is one of six summer movie nights organized by the neighborhood group in the park at 630 N. Kingsbury St.

The movie lineup was chosen earlier this year by popular vote in a survey on the resident group's website.

Other movies on the summer screening lineup include another Sandra Bullock flick, "Gravity," and a mix of new hits and classics including "As Good as it Gets" and "Chicago."

Popcorn and garbage bags will be provided. Alcohol and dogs are not allowed in the park.

The final River North Residents Association movie night is scheduled for Aug. 26, featuring the family-friendly "The Lego Movie."
