One Dead, Five Injured in Hermosa Crash

CHICAGO — One person was killed and five others injured in a single-vehicle crash in Hermosa Saturday morning.

The crash happened about 4:25 a.m. in the 4500 block of West North Avenue, police said. An SUV with six people inside hit a pole, then a viaduct, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.

A female died as she was being taken to Norwegian American Hospital. Two males were taken to West Suburban Hospital, two females were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital and another female was taken to Stroger Hospital.

The victim was identified as Aayiah Boyles, 24, of the 500 block of North Long Avenue, the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office said. Shew as pronounced dead at Norwegian at 5:02 a.m.

Police had no information on the victim's ages or conditions. No more information about the crash was available Saturday morning.
