Friday

Redmoon Summer Celebration at Seward Park, 375 W. Elm St., 6:30-9 p.m.

Redmoon is headed to 15 neighborhoods this summer, bringing free food and entertainment to the community. Aside from the entertainment, Redmoon will also use the opportunity to gather stories of "grit and resilience."

Night Out with Jazz at Seward Park, 375 W. Elm St., 6-9 p.m.

The annual jazz series features local jazz artists who have become household names. The series is sponsored by Ald. Walter Burnett (27th). There is no fee to attend and the show is intended for an audience of all ages.

New Sound Underground at the Tonic Room, 2447 N. Halsted Ave., 8:30 p.m.

New Sound Underground is a genre-defying ensemble from Minneapolis known to enthrall audiences with their live performances. They'll perform with Elev8tor and Low Spark Friday night at the Tonic Room. Tickets to the 21-and-over show are $10.

Ginza Festival at Midwest Buddhist Temple, 435 W. Menomonee St., 5:30-9 p.m.

This year marks the Ginza Festival's 59th year featuring music, dance, martial arts demonstrations and fine Japanese crafts. Five Waza master craftsmen from Japan will demonstrate their skills inherited over generations. Bonsai, calligraphy, brush painting and Samurai swords will also be on display. Admission is a $7 donation for adults, $6 for students and free for children under 12. Three-day passes are available for $15.

Saturday

Green City Market, 1750 N. Clark St., 7 a.m.-1 p.m.

Check out the 10 new vendors at the outdoor market with more than 60 vendors. Saturday's chef demonstration features Kirstine Subido of Pecking Order from 10:30-11:30 a.m. The market will be open from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesdays and Saturdays through Oct. 25.

Jon Wayne & the Pain at the Tonic Room, 2447 N. Halsted Ave., 8:30 p.m.

Join the Midwest Reggae Rockers, Jon Wayne & the Pain as they showcase their unique blend of reggae-rock, roots, pop and ska. Thurgood and Concrete Roots will also perform. Tickets to the 21-and-over show are $12.

PHOX at Lincoln Hall, 2424 N. Lincoln Ave., 10 p.m.

The six best friends who make up PHOX are blessed with madness, illusions of grandeur and the inability to do the same thing twice. They perform Saturday with J.E. Sunde. Tickets to the 21-and-over show are $13.

This year marks the Ginza Festival's 59th year featuring music, dance, martial arts demonstrations and fine Japanese crafts. Five Waza master craftsmen from Japan will demonstrate their skills inherited over generations. Bonsai, calligraphy, brush painting and Samurai swords will also be on display. Saturday night features live music from Yoko Noge, whose music is described as a mix of Japanese folk music and the Chicago blues. Admission is a $7 donation for adults, $6 for students and free for children under 12. Three-day passes are available for $15.

Sunday

Roscoe Village Pub Crawl, starting at the Chicago History Museum, 1601 N. Clark St., 7-10 p.m.

Take a walk through the former home of Riverview Park with this pub crawl through Roscoe Village. Tickets are $40, $30 for museum members.

Sneezy at the Tonic Room, 2447 N. Halsted Ave., 8:30 p.m.

Sneezy, the fusion rock band from Chicago brings their innovative sound created from rock, hip-hop and soul music to the Tonic Room stage for a Sunday night jam fest. Fersher and Matt Persin are also scheduled to perform. Tickets for the 21-and-over show are $5. Doors open at 8 p.m.

Denise Ramsden at Zanie's, 1548 N. Wells St., 8:30 p.m.

Chicago's Own Denise Ramsden's bold humor blended with life experiences has been featured on "The Bob and Tom Show." Her style is a favorite of women but her honesty on stage is loved by the men just as equally. Tickets to the 21-and-over show are $25 with the purchase of two food or beverage items.
