CHICAGO — A man walked into Provident Hospital in Washington Park saying he was shot in Lakeview early Friday morning, police said.

Shot in his thigh, the 32-year-old man was unable to provide details about what had happened to him, said Officer Ana Pacheco, a police spokeswoman.

He told police that he had been shot in the 3100 block of North Clark Street about 1 a.m., Pacheco said.

The shooting is being investigated by police from the Wentworth district, where Provident is located, according to a police source.
