CHICAGO — Four people were shot Wednesday night on the South Side including three people shot in Englewood.

In the most recent shooting, a 16-year-old boy was shot while standing on a porch in the 7000 block of South Winchester Avenue in West Englewood.

Around 11:20 p.m. Wednesday, two men opened fire from a vacant lot striking the boy in his face. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in stable condition, said Officer Hector Alfaro, a Chicago police spokesman.

About an hour earlier, a 28-year-old man was shot by someone in a passing dark colored car in the 7400 block of South Eggleston Avenue in Englewood. He was shot in his leg around 10:20 p.m. and taken to Christ in fair condition. The man is a documented gang member and was uncooperative with officers at the scene, Alfaro said.
