EDISON PARK — The biggest party of the year in Edison Park promises food, beer, music, amusement park rides and family friendly entertainment Aug. 15-17.

With a $5 donation requested at the entrance, Edison Park Fest raises money for the Edison Park Chamber of Commerce and a host of community events and projects, including community beautification efforts, the Santa Express, Edison Park Comedy Fest and restaurant week.

Brother Trouble, a country music group made up of brothers Mark and Jason Sutton, will headline the fest's main stage Aug. 15, while No Doubt tribute band Don't Speak will headline Aug. 16 and Too White Crew, which pays tribute to hip-hop's Golden Era with a six-piece band and choreographed dancers, will close out the fest Aug. 17.

Nine other bands will fill the streets of Edison Park with music during the day and evenings from the main stage, while the family stage will feature a range of kid-friendly acts, including a science show, storytellers and a reptile show.

The annual parade honoring longtime Edison Park resident Jim DelMedico will step off at 11 a.m. Aug. 16 at Ebinger Elementary School, 7350 W Pratt Ave., and will continue south on Oketo Avenue to Northwest Highway and south on Overhill Avenue.

DelMedico, a former president of the Edison Park chamber, organized the Norwood Park Memorial Day and Edison Park Fest parades for more than 50 years. DelMedico died in 2011, and the fest's parade was renamed in his honor to recognize his "tireless" work for the Edison Park community, according to the chamber's memorial website.

Bounce houses and amusement park rides will be on hand to thrill the young — and young-at-heart. A weekend-long unlimited pass is $45, or unlimited rides between noon and 2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday are $15 per day.

The fest will also feature a basketball clinic, bingo, a craft fair, a business expo, dog show and bags tournament.

The fest will take place from 5-10 p.m. Aug. 15 and from noon-10 p.m. Aug. 16 and Aug. 17.
