MCKINLEY PARK — The neighborhood is known for its massive industrial buildings, but look closer and you'll find pockets of urban greenspace.

Most of it will be on display this weekend at the annual McKinley Park Garden Walk, which takes place from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday. The free rain-or-shine event is hosted by the green thumbs behind the McKinley Park Community Garden, the tranquil garden situated next to busy Pershing Road.

The self-guided tour begins at the group's community garden in the 1900 block of West Pershing Road, where participants can grab a map and venture off into the neighborhood, where a total of 13 gardeners and institutions will open their gardens for special tours.
