GOLD COAST — Calling all aspiring Fred Astaires and Ginger Rogerses: The Ruth Page Center for the Arts will offer free dance and fitness classes to kids and adults this weekend.
The Gold Coast dance center is hosting an open house Sunday from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. at its home studio at 1016 N. Dearborn St.
Beginner classes will be offered for free for acrobatics, hip hop and pre-dance classes aimed at kids ages 3-6. Beginner adult classes in ballet, jazz, salsa, contemporary modern, Afro-Cuban, Pilates and Tai Chi will also be available at no charge.
There's no reservation needed to attend the 30-minute introductory classes, and students are "encouraged to sample as many classes as they wish" according to a release from the center.
For participants who find an undiscovered passion during the open house, eight-class passes will be available at half price on Sunday.
