EDGEWATER — LGBT hangout Parlour on Clark will close its doors Sunday after a final week of drink specials and special events, the bar announced Wednesday.

Owners Nikki Calhoun and Jennifer Murphy told patrons via an electronic newsletter that rumors of the closing had been true.

They said their final week in business would be a "blowout party."

Wednesday and Thursday the bar is offering $3 and $2 drinks, respectively. Friday and Saturday the bar will feature DJs and other music and performance artists.

On Sunday, the final day of business, the bar will be cash only and offer $3 "you call it" drinks and karaoke.

The couple opened Parlour at 6341 N. Clark St. in summer 2010 and quickly became a popular establishment within Chicago's LGBT community.

Murphy wasn't immediately available for comment about why the bar was closing.
